How to Count Splines on a U-Joint

The easiest way to find out how many splines are on your u-joint is by drawing a line straight up and down the surface of the u-joint. If there is a flat portion without splines turn the u-joint to the right. Count only the splines to the left of the line and double that number. This will give you a correct spline count for a replacement.
